My Little Corner

I know in my first post I said I wanted to use this blog to document the world I see around me. Not for fame or fortune (who the fuck is going to read this random blog of some nobody), but just because I hope, at some point, someone stumbles across this blog and my little ramblings and observations bring them joy.

Clearly, I haven’t been the most consistent in doing this. I will try to improve on this.

However, I also want to create. I want to put something of myself out into the world. I just don’t feel content living life day-to-day. My job is fine and well-paying. But it isn’t what I’d call fulfilling. And as much as I enjoy playing videogames, I’m just not satisfied playing them all the time.

So, I’ve given myself a challenge. Once-per-quarter (i.e. every three months) I want to create something (posts on this blog don’t count). Whether it’s a simple short story, a video for YouTube, or an actual physical project, after every three months I want to be able step back and say “Yes, I made this thing!”, regardless of how good it is.

I plan to start this process at the start of September, meaning I have until the end of November to complete the project. Additionally, once I get two or three of these quarterly projects under my belt, I may introduce a bigger annual project to complete each year.

I’ll try to post regular updates here to try to hold myself accountable. Feel free to lightly, and I mean lightly, harass me in the comments if I’m not posting an update on my project every two weeks (again, starting in September). This is someone giving you permission to be mean to them on the internet. You don’t get this kind of gold everyday.
